Clary Accomplishments

01

Road Paving & repair

Take a drive in Hendersonville and there is no denying that there are roads in need of repair. Mayor Clary has continued to deliver on his commitment to pave roads, even while receiving immense budget pressure and challenges. Mayor Clary has led the city to repave 67 miles of road between 2017 and 2020, compared to only 16 miles during the previous three years prior to becoming Mayor. During this same time period, Mayor Jamie Clary proposed three increases to the paving budget: they were 5%, 27% and 24%.

02

Creating Accountability

City Staff and local businesses must be kept accountable to Hendersonville residents. During Mayor Jamie Clary's term he has: held developers to their obligations in Mansker Farm, Berry Hill, Durham Farm, Stonecrest, Millstone and on Spade Leaf Blvd. Mayor Clary also forced $12k in payments from violators, implemented annual reviews of city department heads, published BOMA meetings on YouTube for public transparency and started "Hendersonville Mayor" Facebook page to distribute information.

03

Diversity & Inclusion

A diverse workforce and city leadership will allow Hendersonville to create a city that cultivates acceptance, receives unique opinions and ensures we serve the needs of the entire population. Mayor Jamie Clary has: Appointed or Re-Appointed the 1st female golf course commission member, the 1st female industrial development board member, 1st African-American female to the planning commission (along with 2 additional females), the 1st female firefighter, amongst others.
